Scientists discover evidence of massive stellar explosions
Researchers have found evidence for theoretically predicted extremely powerful supernova explosions, in which the largest stars in the universe explode so intensely that absolutely nothing remains. This differs from typical supernovae, which leave behind a compact stellar remnant such as a neutron star or black hole.
