Retired officer Michail Georgitsis testified before a Greek parliamentary committee in 1986, revealing details about the paranoid orders that led to the direction of the coup on July 15, 1974. Georgitsis was entrusted with leading the coup operation by dictator Dimitrios Ioannidis and supreme commander Grigorios Bonanos.
