Secret Prison Documents: Court Reviews Security Classification
In proceedings regarding missing documents from central prisons, prosecutors declared before the court in Nicosia that certain documents were classified as secret or protected and would not be handed over to the defense for reasons of national security. The defense has meanwhile accused prosecutors of conflicts of interest, as a prosecutor representative recently left the private practice of another lawyer who is defending the case. The court will now decide on the release of these documents.
