Severe storms cause flooding and traffic chaos in Cyprus
Heavy rainfall and severe weather led to 14 emergency operations across the island. The fire department had to pump water out of flooded basements and open sewage channels to divert water masses. The districts of Paphos, Chrysochous, Larnaca and other regions were particularly affected, where roads and buildings were flooded and drivers were trapped in their vehicles.
