Shipping Ban After Disasters: New Regulations for Port Security
The last weekend of August brought two tragic maritime incidents off Cyprus that triggered immediate regulatory measures. Rules for issuing export bans and procedures for arresting persons illegally anchoring were introduced. The new regulations are intended to improve port safety and prevent further accidents.
