Shipping in Mediterranean region falling behind on climate goals
Shipping companies in the eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus, are setting more ambitious climate goals than their operational capacities allow. A study by the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association shows that financial constraints, shortage of skilled personnel, and limited operational capacity represent significant obstacles to decarbonization.
