Social Agency Declares Blind Disabled Person Fit for Work - Parliamentary Scandal
A social benefits recipient who had lost his eyesight received disability compensation that was granted to him after 13 years of fighting. Three years later, he was called for a medical examination where he was told he had become accustomed to his blindness and could therefore work. The incident was presented by parliamentarian Chrysanthos Savvides before the audit committee and caused shock.
