Social Legislation in Northern Region Withdrawn Due to Coalition Crisis
A draft law to amend the cost-of-living allowance for Turkish-Cypriot public employees is being referred back to the finance committee of the northern Cypriot legislature. The representative of the governing coalition partner UBP, Hasan Tacoy, regretted a "communication breakdown" within the coalition and pointed to internal tensions.
