Solar eclipse tests European power grid
The total solar eclipse on Wednesday puts the European power system to the test, as solar power generation will drop by approximately 10 GW. While the heat wave is already straining energy networks, the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) is working to prevent a possible blackout.
