Solar energy becomes world's leading energy source for first time
Photovoltaic installations covered more than a quarter (27%) of global energy consumption growth for the first time in 2025, surpassing natural gas. This is the first time in history that a renewable energy technology has been the primary contributor to meeting increased global energy demand.
