Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg demand 2040 target for renewable energy
Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg have called on the European Union in a letter to set a more ambitious target for renewable energy expansion by 2040. This initiative leads to disagreements with other EU countries that want to include nuclear energy in the targets. The European Commission is currently preparing new EU energy policies.
