Sperm whales communicate according to human-like language rules
Researchers have discovered that sperm whales use complex click sounds for communication that follow rules similar to human language. The study, conducted by Project CETI, was published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences. To the human ear, these clicks often sound like simple, repeated taps.
