State paid 8.86 million euros for clergy salaries in 2025
The Cypriot state spent a total of 8.857 million euros in 2025 on clergy salaries, an increase from 8.3 million euros in 2024 and 7.6 million euros previously. According to projections by the audit chamber, annual expenses could grow to nearly ten million euros by 2029.
