Study: Neolithic Graves in Scotland Show Kinship Networks
A new archaeological study has reconstructed a complex kinship network using ancient DNA from human remains in Scottish Neolithic graves. The analysis of five prehistoric burial sites in northern Scotland shows that the people interred there were genetically connected. This suggests that early agricultural cultures maintained not only cultural traditions but also family bonds across geographic distances.
