Study shows severe genetic mutations in repeated cloning of mice
Researchers have repeatedly cloned mice over two decades and discovered that serial cloning causes severe genetic mutations. The study with 1,206 cloned laboratory mice from a single donor mouse from 2005 to 2025 shows that these mutations accumulate over generations and eventually become lethal. The results highlight the limitations of cloning technology.
