Suda: The Byzantine encyclopedia from the year 1100
The Suda is a comprehensive Byzantine reference work written around the year 1100 by a Byzantine scholar and is considered one of the first encyclopedias and lexicons in the world. The work served both as a syllabary of the Greek language and as an overview of known secular events up to that time and remains a milestone of medieval scholarship.
