Tax reform in Cyprus costs twice as much as planned
The tax reform, which came into effect in January 2026, will burden state tax revenues twice as heavily as originally calculated. The Centre for Economic Research at the University of Cyprus had underestimated the fiscal impacts, which presents significant budgetary challenges for the government.
