Tax Reform Strains Income Taxes Despite Overall Increase
Cyprus's tax revenues rose by 5.9 percent in the first five months of 2026, but the tax reform introduced on January 1 depressed income taxes. Generous tax deductions for middle-class earners with moderate income growth led to declines in personal income tax, while overall revenues increased by approximately 171 million euros.
