Teacher reforms: Government and union in negotiations
The Cypriot government is attempting to reform the longstanding problem of waiting-list teacher hiring, but the teachers' union OELMEK does not accept the proposals so far. OELMEK demands a revised reform proposal and refuses the planned abolition of hiring lists in 2027 unless the resolutions of the union conference are considered, but also reserves the right to take measures.
