Teacher Supply Reform: Professional Competence Over Degree Alone
An opinion piece criticizes the previous practice of teacher recruitment in Cyprus's public school service, in which a university degree was the sole criterion, regardless of actual abilities. For decades, anyone with a recognized higher education degree could teach in public schools.
