Teachers protest at presidential palace against hiring system
Hundreds of teachers demonstrated outside the presidential palace, calling on President Nikos Christodoulides to intervene in a dispute over the hiring system for teachers at public schools. The teacher unions warn that the new system endangers job security and could lead to staff shortages at schools starting in 2027. The protest was organized by three teacher unions.
