Teachers' Union Demands Civil Service Status for Teachers
The Cypriot teachers' union ISOTITA has demanded civil service status for fixed-term employed teachers as a prerequisite for reform of the hiring system. The union council lists five fundamental requirements for the new system and welcomes positive elements from the Ministry such as crediting previous service time and abolition of admission standards.
