Tensions in Defense Committee over Turkish FIR violations
A joint session of the parliamentary defense and transport committees became tense during discussions on Turkish activities in the Nicosia FIR (Flight Information Region) and the resulting security risks for air traffic. While Turkish actions and activities of the pseudo-state were initially the focus, the debate was then expanded to include Greek F-16 flights. Air traffic controllers warn of problems in the FIR.
