Tourist damages Neptune statue in Florence
A 28-year-old tourist damaged parts of the Neptune fountain on Piazza della Signoria in Florence by climbing over the barrier and attempting to touch the statue. The incident occurred on Saturday at one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations. Italian authorities are investigating the tourist for property damage to the historical monument dedicated to the Roman god Neptune (known as Poseidon in Greek mythology).
