Trade unions in Northern Cyprus announce general strikes
Two major trade unions in Northern Cyprus have announced general strikes for Monday. The Municipal Workers' Union (BES) is calling for an indefinite general strike in all municipalities, while the Public Transport and Communications Workers' Union (Tel-Sen) is planning a one-day general strike. The Tel-Sen strike is directed against the passage of a cost-of-living bill.
