Turkey Achieves Record in Hydroelectric Power Generation
Heavy rainfall in spring 2026 led to record levels of hydroelectric power generation in Turkey. In April, hydroelectric plants generated 11.66 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 41.4 percent of total electricity production. From January to April, hydroelectric generation reached 34.7 billion kWh – the highest value ever recorded.
