Turkey Claims Greek Economic Zone with Maritime Areas
Turkey designated two "national maritime zones" through presidential decrees on August 15: one in the Northern Aegean between Lemnos and Samothrace and one in the Eastern Mediterranean region around Kastellorizo. The boundaries of these zones extend beyond Turkish territorial waters into the Greek exclusive economic zone.
