Turkey provokes over the Fall of Tripolitsa in 1821
On the 205th anniversary of the conquest of Tripolitsa by Greek independence fighters on September 23, 1821, the Turkish Foreign Ministry responds with provocations. The city was a strategically important center and seat of the governor of the Morea region.
