Turkish Cypriot criticizes EU report on Turkey
Turkish Cypriot politician Ünal Üstel expressed surprise and regret regarding statements made by the European Parliament in its annual report on Turkey. The report had called on Turkey to give the Turkish Cypriot community more space to pursue an independent political course. Üstel saw this as a clear implication regarding Turkey's role.
