Turkish Cypriot leadership rejects talks without negotiations
Turkish Cypriot political leader Tufan Erhiyurman clearly rejects the notion that the Turkish Cypriot population should pay the price for the failure to reach a solution. He supports the efforts of the UN Secretary-General but resists negotiations without outcomes or formats such as 5+1 meetings for their own sake, as his people do not consider themselves a minority.
