Turkish-Cypriot Mayor Found Guilty of Document Forgery
Turkish-Cypriot mayor of Ayios Sergios Katip Demir was found guilty of document forgery on Friday and sentenced to six months in prison. He had forged a council resolution in 2017. Demir is the first Turkish-Cypriot mayor to be convicted of a crime while in office.
