Turkish journalist convicted of disinformation
An Istanbul court sentenced Turkish journalist Zafer Arapkirli from the opposition newspaper BirGün to two and a half years in prison. The charges allege the spreading of disinformation through comments he published on the platform X regarding armed conflicts. Non-governmental organizations and his employer criticized the conviction.
