UK: Higher wage taxes hinder hiring of school leavers
The unemployment rate of young Britons (16-24 years, NEET) fell below one million in the second quarter of 2026, after reaching its highest level since 2013 in the first three months of the year. However, increased wage taxes and automation are hampering willingness to hire for entry-level positions in the United Kingdom.
