Ultrafine air pollution causes two million deaths annually
Researchers from the Cyprus Institute, the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, and Mainz University Hospital have demonstrated that long-term exposure to ultrafine particles is associated with approximately two million premature deaths worldwide per year. Ultrafine particles are extremely small with a diameter below 100 nanometers and have not been adequately monitored to date.
