USA and Venezuela: massive oil production agreement
The Trump administration has announced a massive agreement with Venezuela that gives the USA unprecedented control over 17 oil fields. These fields contain an estimated 65 billion barrels of crude oil, approximately one-fifth of known Venezuelan oil reserves. Formally, the fields remain Venezuelan property, but practically the USA secures considerable influence.
