USA drastically tightens Iran sanctions
The Trump administration announced a massive expansion of sanctions against Iran, calling the day "D-Day" for Tehran. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that countries doing business with Iran would be isolated along with it. The Iranian Economy Minister, in turn, announced a "two-year plan" to combat the new sanctions and promised the USA a "new defeat."
