USA Plans Reopening of 800 km Oil Pipeline to Bypass Strait of Hormuz
The United States, Iraq, and Syria are developing plans to reactivate the historic pipeline connecting the city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq with the Syrian Mediterranean port of Banyas. This is intended to create an alternative route for Iraqi oil exports and bypass the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
