Venezuela Negotiated Over Iranian Long-Range Missiles
The government of Nicolás Maduro investigated purchasing a ballistic missile system from Iran in 2020, as revealed by internal Venezuelan Defense Ministry documents. The planned agreement would have cost over 400 million dollars and would have allowed Venezuela to strike targets in the US, but was ultimately not implemented as Venezuela yielded to US pressure.
