Venezuela: Over 2,900 Dead and 16,000 Homeless After Double Earthquake
The toll from the severe double earthquakes of June 24 in Venezuela is devastating: at least 2,954 people died and over 16,500 were injured. More than 16,000 people lost their homes, and 856 buildings were completely destroyed. The preliminary figures were released by the country's transitional junta.
