Violence against women: 10,000 cases in 5 years, alarming statistics
Justice Minister Kostas Fytiris presented alarming statistics on violence against women in Cyprus: 10,000 cases were reported over the past five years, 7,000 of which reached the courts. The government is developing a prevention application called 'Red Flag' that should be operational by the end of the year. The parliamentary session revealed numerous gaps in combating violence against women and domestic violence.
