Volt Party Uses Turkish Place Names in Occupied Kyrenia
The pan-European party Volt organized a beach cleaning action in the occupied city of Kyrenia in June 2025 and used the Turkish place name 'Akdeniz' in the public announcement. This designation was introduced following the Turkish invasion of 1974 by the Turkish occupation regime. The use of Turkish place names remains a controversial issue in Cyprus.
