Warning signal for water: dams two-thirds empty
Cyprus's water reserves are in a critical situation. Despite rainfall in the first four months of 2026, the dams remain two-thirds empty. While a 10-percent reduction in water supply was planned, Limassol and Paphos have unexpectedly recorded increases of 8 and 16 percent respectively. As a result, the Water Department had to introduce stricter measures for resource management.
