Water Crisis Remains Acute Despite Overflowing Dams
Although multiple dams in Argaka, Pomos, and Kalopanayiotis are overflowing, the Water Development Department (WDD) warns of a continuing water crisis. Despite significant inflows in the first four months of 2026, Cyprus remains on Yellow Alert status. The WDD is preparing a report for the Council of Ministers documenting the critical water situation.
