Water Safety in Danger: 16 Deaths in 18 Years on Cypriot Coasts
A jet ski accident involving a 17-year-old in Pernera, in which a father and his 7-year-old daughter were seriously injured, once again highlights safety deficiencies at Cypriot beaches. In the last 18 years, 16 people have died in water sports accidents, while manned rescue towers are understaffed and water sports activities are insufficiently regulated.
