Wine Production in Cyprus on the Verge of Collapse Due to Fungal Disease
The Cypriot wine sector is in a critical situation. Wine manufacturers and producers describe the current season as the worst in the sector's history, as downy mildew fungal disease is causing massive damage. Parliament discussed the issue in an emergency meeting of the Agricultural Committee and called on the government to take massive countermeasures.
