Women significantly underrepresented in parliamentary candidacies
Despite promises from several parties for greater female representation in parliament and positions of power, the submitted candidate lists show a clear imbalance. Of a total of 753 candidacies, 529 (70.3 percent) are men and only 224 (29.7 percent) are women.
