Women's shelter under heavy strain from rise in domestic violence
The Cypriot women's shelter 'House of Woman' recorded 5,728 calls in 2026, of which 1,317 cases involved domestic and gender-based violence. The growing caseload combined with organizational challenges is placing heavy strain on available resources and infrastructure.
